Which vehicles are required to have an emissions card?

It is mandatory:

For all vehicles with a gross weight of up to 3.5 tons, regardless of technology and should be issued upon completion of the 1st year from the date of issue of the first registration permit.

For heavy vehicles with a gross weight of more than 3.5 tons as well

For Public Use vehicles (e.g. ambulances, taxis).

Bicycles are excluded and do not have an obligation to issue an emission card.

Procedure and required documents for issuing an emissions card

The process is extremely easy.

It is simply necessary to visit one of the authorized garages, which also have special markings, for the relevant check.

To avoid unnecessary delays and unnecessary suffering, it is preferable to take place after a scheduled appointment, while it usually does not last more than 10 minutes. All that is needed is the demonstration of the vehicle s registration license.

When must the emission card be issued?

For vehicles with a gross weight of up to 3.5 tons each year, while for an inspection that is done late, i.e., every second year, the exhaust gas card can be requested and granted at the same time as the inspection procedure at KTEOs, publicly or privately, upon payment of the corresponding price and without penalty or any further surcharge.

Heavy vehicles with a gross weight of more than 3.5 tons as well as public use vehicles such as ambulances, taxis, every 6 months.
